Beyond the Shutter

My name is Richard Gabel. I've been drawing for as long as I can remember, probably as soon as I was able to hold a pencil. Eventually, I picked up some paintbrushes and gave that a go as well. Where I really hit my stride as an artist was when I picked up a camera and started documenting all the scenery and nature around me. Even before I retired I was taking road trips around Oklahoma with my wife, looking for whatever caught my eye. I'm proud to share those images with others. As well as my photography, I still enjoy drawing and painting.  I've created images based on some of my photos, using mixed media such as colored pencils and ink. Several of those are available as well. Currently, I'm exploring ideas for possibly creating prints of more of the mixed media art that I've created over the years. Stay tuned for future announcements about shows and available art.
